Drink & Drug Drivers Caught Over Long Weekend

More than six thousand motorists were breath tested during SAPOL's latest road safety sting, 'Operation Safe Long Weekend'.

Of those pulled over, 25 drink drivers were busted, including and a 21-year-old P-plater in the Murray Mallee region who allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.090, and a 67-year-old man from the Adelaide Hills who is alleged to have returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.064.

There were 36 drug drivers detected from nearly 300 tests, including five from the Hills Fleurieu region and one from the Murray Mallee. Most offenders had cannabis and methamphetamine in their systems, for which there is zero tolerance.
