A new toolbox is being launched today for businesses in the Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island to embrace ‘Accessible Tourism’.
Accessible or 'Inclusive' Tourism aims to make destinations, products and services accessible to all people, regardless of their physical limitations, disabilities or age.
The burgeoning market is worth about $10 billion in Australia, which is on par with the value of the inbound Chinese tourism market.
The Regional Development Australia project is part of Tapping the Demographic Dividend. The key principles are provided in the online kit which gives operators solid knowledge and insight into the industry and cost effective ways to improve accessibility.
