CFS Takes Aim at Emergency Services Minister

Just months out from bushfire season, there is instability in the Country Fire Service.

The CFS Volunteer Association have released an open letter saying they are outraged a new Chief Officer (to be announced next week) has been chosen even though they refused to sign off on the panel’s selection.

The association has taken aim at Emergency Services MInister Corey Wingard for appointing someone who they say does not meet appropriate criteria.

Former CFS chief Greg Nettleton was stepped down in April with Minister Wingard declaring he would be taking the organisation in a “new direction”.
