The Meningie hobby farmer who kidnapped and raped a European backpacker is due to be sentenced in court today (Tuesday 14 May).
Jean Bristow was arrested in February 2017 after chaining a 24-year-old woman in his shed and sexually assaulting her.
The 54-year-old was meant to face sentencing on 2 May but had been taken to hospital with a medical condition and could not be brought to court.
In March 2019, a Jury found Mr Bristow guilty of one count of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of rape, two counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted rape.
He faces deportation to the UK upon serving his sentence.
