Adelaide Hills residents have won a fight against the construction of a phone tower.
Telstra has dropped a project to build a 49-metre tower in Cherryville after members of the community appealed against the development approval.
Those opposed claimed it would destroy views along the scenic drive and potentially impact tourism.
The tower was to be build under the Federal Government’s mobile Black Spot Program to improve phone reception in the hills.
