The annual AquaFest is on this weekend, celebrating classic and modern boats, skiffs, classic cars and planes.
Passionate boaties from all over South Australia and across the border will assemble at the lower lakes from 9am Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2019.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy powerboat racing in spirited demonstrations as well as static displays, hydroplanes, food and beverage outlets, hot rods and classic cars.
This year’s Aquafest falls in the year of the 60th birthday of the Goolwa Aquatic Club. The Club was first established in 1959 by a group of local speedboat enthusiasts and was founded on speedboat racing.
The Club's first Commodore was Jack Newcombe of Goolwa and he held office from 1959 to 1963.
