Revolve 24, the cycling event at The Bend Motorsport Park has added another event to the calendar after receiving requests from people wanting to ride their bike on the track.
The Coorong Community Ride will allow participants to do as many laps of the 3.4km West Circuit as they can in a 90 minute session, as well as an opportunity to ride a penny farthing, and cycle and safety checks for the kids.
David Fell, Director of Revolve24 Australia, said demand
from families watching the 2018 event at The Bend
Motorsport Park requesting permission to ride their bikes on the track had prompted the development of this new ride.
“This is an amazing opportunity to ride a world-class motorsport track by bike in a safe and controlled environment,” said David Fell.
Once the Coorong Community Ride has finished, there will plenty of cycling action to keep families entertained at The Bend for the day.
Mayor Paul Simmons, Coorong District Council said the Council is pleased to support Revolve24 Australia and welcomed the affordable community ride component of the event to the region.
“We want to encourage as many locals as possible to register to ride and take advantage of this unique experience. We expect interest to be strong from South Australians who love to put their foot on the pedal, and from families who enjoy keeping fit together,” said Mayor Simmons.
“This is also an ideal time for us locals to show people visiting for Revolve24 Australia just what we have to offer in our beautiful backyard – including some of the sensational Murray River, Lower Lakes and Coorong environments. Our region is a mecca for outdoor recreation experiences on both land and water – we have a range of trails ready to use for our visitors and would encourage them to spend a few extra days in the Coorong exploring them after their Revolve24 ride.”
The ride will be held at The Bend on Saturday March 16 with the west circuit ride kicking off at 10:45am. To register head to the Coorong Community Ride page of the Revolve24 website.
