Two Adelaide Hills sporting complex’s will be the beneficiaries of funding should SA Best win the balance of power at the upcoming SA election.
Candidate for Kavel Adnrew Stratford has promised $250,000 for the Hills Recreational Grounds at Woodside who recognised the need for expansion more than a decade ago.
The money will help improve car parking and internal roads which are struggling to deal with the number of people using the grounds for the range of sorting codes who use it.
Meanwhile the Mt Barker Little Athletics club will gain $50,000 to help them develop a new site.
They currently use the land behind Mt Barker High but have found it insufficient for their needs so will find new grounds and with the money build tracks and space for several athletic disciplines.
“SA-BEST’s commitment to the Mount Barker & Districts Little Athletics Centre could not come at a better time, and will help as it tries to find a new home,” Andrew said.
“It is working with Mt Barker Council to find new grounds – but that’s only half the battle because they will then need to develop the site once it is established."
“This money will help cover those costs and provide a modest contribution to Mt Barker Council, should it need to develop the site by providing car parking spaces or amenities”.
