The SA Liberals are promising to reinstate the 110km an hour speed limit on two Murray Mallee roads if they win at the election on Saturday.
Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick says Browns Well Rd and the Ngarkat Highway need an upgrade to improve conditions and infrastructure, with many local residents raising serious concerns about their safety.
“I have been in direct contact with the Minister and the Department of Transport and Infrastructure requesting that road infrastructure upgrades be undertaken to ensure motorist safety."
“Country roads have been neglected by the current Weatherill Labor Government and we know that the CCF has said that there is a $500 million backlog of road maintenance across the state."
“As part of the Marshall Liberal Team I am committed to seeing the speed limits on these roads restored back to 110km/h.
Mr Pederick says hos party's Royalties for Regions program would help support this kind of infrastructure upgrade.
“The Liberals also have a Royalties for Regions program, to quarantine 30 per cent of mining royalties for investment in regional roads and infrastructure."
“Based on current projections that would deliver over $760 million of investment over the next decade."
“Browns Well Highway will be a priority for me if elected and as the Member for Hammond, I will continue to advocate for the needs of my community.”
