Operation Belt Up Nabs 18 a Day

Despite their proven safety value, SA Police are identifying an average of 18 motorists a day not doing up their seatbelt during a targeted operation.

Operation Belt Up runs until 19 November and those found not wearing a seat belt will be issued with a$355 fine plus a $60 Victims of Crime Levy and the loss of three demerit points.

Failure to wear a seatbelt makes you 10 times more likely to be killed in a crash.
