The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a severe weather warning today, Tuesday 2 August, for damaging winds and possible rain and thunderstorms.
The warning comes for people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral districts.
The 11.13am update says a vigorous cold front will enter the far west of the state early Tuesday afternoon. The front will continue to move east during Tuesday, reaching the eastern districts during the evening. Northerly winds will strengthen ahead of the front and possibly become damaging. Damaging winds are more likely with showers and thunderstorms near and following the front.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:bom.gov.au.* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees; * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
