A 46-year-old man from Beaumont has lost his licence for a year, after he was caught drink-driving in the middle of the day on Wednesday.
Police were alerted to an erratic Mercedes-Benz on Victor Harbor Road around 12:30pm, after a member of the public claimed the driver was involved in several near-misses.
The man was later stopped on the Southern Expressway.
A breath test revealed a .171 alcohol reading, prompting a 12-month loss of licence and a 28-day impoundment of his vehicle.
He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Police are urging anyone with dash-cam footage of the driver to assist with their investigation by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
