A woman has been arrested for drink driving and dangerous driving after commuters reported seeing her car travelling on the wrong side of the South Eastern Freeway, just before midnight on Thursday 5 May.

According to SAPOL, the driver was three times over the legal limit (0.166) when she was stopped and breath-tested on Portrush Road, Glen Osmond early this morning.

Commuters reported the incident and said they had to take positive action to avoid being hit by the woman's Kia sedan on the uptrack of the motorway near Stirling.

The 66-year-old Hackham West woman lost her licence on the spot for 12 months, had her car towed and impounded for 28 days and was reported for dangerous driving and drink driving.

She will be summoned at the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
