A woman from Strathalbyn has been arrested after allegedly refusing to wear a face mask while shopping.
On Wednesday morning, patrols were called to a Littlehampton supermarket to speak to the shopper after she allegedly ignored requests from staff to adhere to mask rules.
Police allege they spoke to the 56-year-old at length to explain the new Direction but that she refused to provide her name and address.
The woman was charged with failing to comply with a direction and refusing to state her name and address. She has been bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on 25 August.
Police remind the community that under the current Direction, masks are mandatory in shared indoor public places which includes supermarkets. For further information about when you need to wear a mask, please visit https://www.police.sa.gov.au/sa-police-news-assets/covid-19.
