One of two Black Hawk ex-military aircrafts purchased for Australian firefighting is about to get loaded on a boat en route to SA from the United States.
SA company Aerotech recently bought two helicopters to help assist the CFS in fighting bushfires as the seasons here and abroad get longer and hotter.
One of the aircrafts in the company's possession already, the other is set to head on a voyage to Australia ahead of the next bushfire season.
Chris Boyd, Chief pilot with Aerotech said the aircrafts are ideal for firefighting due to their speed of around 300 kilometres per hour and water-holding capacity of up to 4,000 litres.
