Local ANZAC Day Events


This ANZAC Day, RSLs will be holding events in accordance with COVIDSafe capabilities, with some opting to only invite members and veterans.

On Sunday April 25, The Victor Harbor RSL will be holding a 5.30am Dawn Service at Soldiers Memorial Gardens and, for the first time in 100 years, they will host a 10.30am march through the streets of Victor Harbor.

Stirling will hold a service at 6.30am at the Coventry Lawns.

The Meadows dawn service will go ahead organisers are expecting about 450 people at the memorial on Mawson Road.

The Blackwood RSL is having a Dawn Service at 6.30am at the RSL Memorial Gardens, following a 6.15am march. 

The Murray Bridge RSL is currently awaiting approval from SA Health to host an event at the new memorial at Sturt Reserve. 

Meningie RSL will be hosting a Dawn Service from 6am at the Meningie Memorial Park on Princes Hwy, and then breakfast will be served at the RSL Hall afterwards.

Macclesfield RSL will not host a service but has instead asked the community to Light up the Dawn in their driveways and visit the memorial during the day to lay tributes and pay respects. The RSL is also hosting a Twilight Service on the Sunday 18 April at 6pm in the main street.

The Macclesfield RSL is also sponsoring the Battunga ANZAC Clash between the Macclesfield and Meadows Football Clubs on Saturday 24th April at the Macclesfield oval. A commemorative service will be conducted between the B and A Grades matches and all current and ex-service personnel will get free entry to the games with Military ID or wearing medals.

Mclaren Vale and District Sub Branch will not be able to hold a service this year, instead the RSL asks members of the community to Light up the Dawn in their driveways once again.

Goolwa, Echunga, Tailem Bend and Mt Barker Clubs will only hold services for members and veterans, not for the general public.
