In a bid to make the Adelaide Hills and Murraylands safer during the bushfire season, the State Government has commissioned a contractor to remove weeds and grasses along the South Eastern Freeway.
From the Tollgate to Tailem Bend, tall grasses will be slashed and mowed and weeds will be sprayed.
Residents have been voicing their concern about the potential bushfire risk in recent weeks and urging the Department for Transport and Infrastructure to do something about it.
The work is expected to start today and finish 1 December.
The Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Metropolitan, Kangaroo Island and Lower South East season will run from 1 December 2020 to 30 April 2021.
The Murraylands and Upper South East seasons started on November 15 and will run until 15 April .
