There are new COVID-19 clinics around South Australia as the state ramps up testing to crack down on the virus.

Premier Steven Marshall has congratulated the thousands of South Australians who turned up in record numbers to take the initiative on Sunday and Monday.

"I want to thank the people of South Australia for waiting to be tested... this may  seem hugely inconvenient but testing is absolutely critical. Your response has given me great heart that we will rise to this challenge," Premier Marshall said in a press conference on Monday afternoon.

There have been reports of gridlocks and long queues as community members came out to get tested across SA.

As well as in Metropolitan Adelaide, there are clinics in the Coorong, at Mannum, Meningie, Murray Bridge, Mt Barker, Tailem Bend, Streaky Bay, Victor Harbor, Waikerie and further North East in the Riverland. Find your closest Testing Centre at the SA Health Website.

If you meet the criteria for testing for COVID-19, there are a range of testing options available.

People who have any of the symptoms below, even if mild, should get tested for COVID-19 as soon as symptoms appear:

  • fever OR chills (with no alternative illness that explains these symptoms)
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • runny nose
  • shortness of breath
  • loss of taste or smell.

Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency, such as difficulty breathing or chest pain.

You do not need a referral to visit most dedicated COVID-19 and Respiratory clinics. You may require a 'referral form’ from your GP to access some testing services.

MONITOR YOUR SYMPTOMS IF YOU VISITED THE LOCATIONS BELOW

If you visited any of the below locations during the listed times, you do not need to self-quarantine but you should monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if symptoms appear.
