Residents in Nairne will soon be able to shop local following the unveiling of the township's first supermarket next week.
The small but booming Adelaide Hills community has been eagerly awaiting the mainstreet development at the former Chapman's smallgoods factory for the past few years.
The space will be home to Klose’s Foodland Supermarket, a café, bottle shop and four other specialty stores.
Klose’s Foodland Supermarket will be unveiled to the public on Thursday October 22, with other stores to follow soon after.
The development project was initially projected to be completed by April this year but site owner Lelio Bibbo said weather and other delays has pushed the date out several times.
Mr Bibbo said that he anticipated the development would bring organic growth to the town.
"Hopefully the rest of the mainstreet will pick up and a lot of activity will come in and, I dare say it... it will become a mini-Hahndorf," Mr Bibbo said.
The opening of the supermarket follows the unveiling of Kloses Woodside on 3 June this year.
