Mount Barker is on track to becoming SA's second biggest city in the coming years with another housing boom this year.
Low interest rates, first home buyer incentives and the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder grant have all contributed to a 400 per cent increase in lot sales at Newenham Estate in the month of June.
In May there were also 25 new parcels created in the region from landowners subdividing their land.
Mount Barker District Council predicts that by 2037, Mt Barker will be South Australia's second largest city after Adelaide, superseding Mt Gambier.
