South Australia has scrapped plans to reopen its borders to Victoria on July 20.

Premier Steven Marshall met with the transition committee this morning and made the decision due to ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in Victoria.

"We are increasingly concerned about the outbreaks that are occurring in Victoria so we are not in a position to remove our border," Premier Marshall said.

The committee will provide an update later this week on whether to soon reopen the borders to the ACT and New South Wales.

The borders are already open to travellers from Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland.
