Two new childcare centres in the Adelaide Hills have been approved for construction.
The Mt Barker District Council has given the greenlight to a new childcare centre in Mt Barker and the revamp of the Montessori Early Learning Centre in Hanhdorf.
The Hahndorf project was awarded earlier this month to Chappell Builders, at a cost of around $1.9 million, according to a report tabled with council.
The company plans to demolish existing structures and build a purpose designed space for up to 85 children including 15 babies, 40 toddlers and 30 preschoolers.
Meantime, the Mt Barker project will be run by 20 staff and accommodate 140 children once up and running.
Construction will get underway in September with an aim to be completed by the end of 2021.
