The Member for Mayo, Rebekha Sharkie, is urging the Prime Minister to extend the Job Keeker payment beyond September.

Unemployment is at the highest level in 19 years due to COVID-19 restrictions and the recession. In April and May more than 820,000 Australians lost their jobs.

The Centre Alliance member is urging the Coalition to continue supporting the $750 per week workers subsidy after the six month cut off, particularly in the precarious tourism and hospitality sectors.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has indicated that he is considering all options.
