Police are investigating the cause of a truck crash in Carrickalinga in which a house was completely destroyed and two men were injured.

Just after 10.30am Tuesday 19 May,  emergency services were called to the scene on Carrickalinga Road where a truck had travelled down a hill and ploughed into a two-storey transportable home.

The truck driver and his passenger, both in their 50s, had to be cut from wreckage and were taken to hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

One neighbour has told Seven News it was a scary ordeal.

"Heard a large rumble, came out, looked out the window and basically saw a truck careering for what I thought was my house at the time. Luckily it passed our house and hit the neighbours... unfortunately for them," he said.

No one was home at the time, however the land owner Roger has told Seven News that he is devastated as the property was to be his family's retirement home.
