Holiday-Makers Keen to Stay Local - Poll Results

Most of our readers would rather explore local towns in the Murraylands, Hills and south coast than venture further out into South Australia.

The State Government and local mayors are encouraging us to explore the state, now that SA has no known active cases of COVID-19 and our borders remain shut.

Last week in our online poll, we asked 'Where in SA Would You Like to Go on Holiday Next?'

A quarter of all respondents selected ‘somewhere local’, followed by 18 per cent who chose the ‘outback’, 14 per cent of respondents said they would like to head up to the Riverland, followed closely by the mid north/ Flinders region at 12 per cent.

The Barossa received zero votes, which may well be because the region was the source of a large COVID19 outbreak in March due to infected international visitors.

Other areas that got a handful of votes in our poll each include Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula, the west coast, south-east SA, Eyre Peninsual and Limestone Coast.
