River Murray residents and water users are being encouraged to keep an eye out for yellow water lillies that are now considered to be a weed.
The common garden water feature has been taking over parts of the river, along with local wetlands and creeks.
The plant with lilly pads has bright yellow flowers open during the day that close at night.

If you spot any infestations while you’re spending time on the River, and exploring its backwaters, report them to the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.
