Investigations are ongoing after a house was destroyed by fire in Aldgate last night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Mount Barker Road at Aldgate at 7pm, with 50 CFS firefighters on 15 trucks and two bulk water carriers on scene to fight the blaze.
The CFS says they acted defensively to prevent the fire from extending beyond the house, which was nearly fully engulfed by the time they arrived.
There was no one at home at the premises at the time and no reports of injuries.
The blaze reignited at approx. 7:45am this morning, prompting crews to spring back into action to prevent it spreading again.
Losses are estimated at $850,000.
