Locals are invited to participate in community celebrations on NAIDOC Week (Sunday 2 – Sunday 9 July 2023).
This year’s theme “For our Elders” celebrates the important role Elders play across our communities.
The Rural City of Murray Bridge will commence its celebrations with the annual Bridge Walk on Monday 3 July.
A Welcome to Country and a Smoking Ceremony will start at 9am, then the Bridge Walk will start from the East side of the road bridge, followed by an awards ceremony at the Local Government Centre.
In Tailem Bend there is a flag raising and morning tea at the local Town Hall on Tuesday at 9am.
In Tintinara on Wednesday from 11.30am the local War Memorial Hall will host a sausage sizzle and cultural activities at the war memorial hall
And Meningie Area School is getting involved on Thursday 6 June from 11am with a BBQ and cultural activities.
