Police are investigating two fires in the southern suburbs overnight, at Brown Hill Creek and Panorama.
About 1.40am on Tuesday 20 February, emergency services responded to reports of a grass fire on Brown Hill Creek Road, Mitcham, near the caravan park.
About a hectare of grass and scrub burnt before the fire was largely extinguished by CFS crews.
Occupants of the caravan park were quickly alerted to the potential danger and were able to safely evacuate. There were no reports of injuries.
Crews will remain onsite to monitor and extinguish any hot spots today.
Then at about 4.30am, crews responded to a grass fire on a walking trail near Sleeps Hill Drive, Panorama. An area of about 100m by 100m of grass burnt.
Crime scene investigators will attend both scenes of fire this morning to try to establish a cause.
