Another high-profile footy star will be lining up in the Hills Football League in 2025, with Lobethal revealing yesterday that Charlie Dixon will be a Tiger this upcoming season.

The club made the announcement yesterday evening via their Facebook page, praising Dixon’s on-field presence as a key target up forward as well as his off-field character.

The 34-year-old retired from the highest level of footy at the end of the 2024 AFL season, having tallied 221 matches across 14 seasons; 156 of those came for Port Adelaide, where he was a three-time leading goalkicker for the Power and an All-Australian in 2020.

The acquisition comes at a great time for Lobethal, who will be looking to rebound after missing the finals the last two years following their 2022 premiership triumph over Hahndorf.

The Tigers begin their 2025 campaign at home against 2024 finalists Mount Lofty on April 12th.

Dixon’s move joins a flurry of activity within the Hills Football League Division One market, with big names such as Jackson Hopper, James Dutton, James Richards and Joe Skinner joining other sides in the competition.
