One of the state’s biggest grant funding programs for RSL’s and community groups has awarded more than $15,000 to four local organisations, as preparations begin ahead of ANZAC Day commemorations.

Items ranging from flagpoles, marquees and PA systems have been funded in Mt Compass, Port Elliot and Murray Bridge, while a new digital kiosk outlining ANZAC history will be funded in Willunga.

Up to $100,000 is available each year through the fund, which is distributed among successful applicants and administered by Veterans SA.

Veteran Affairs Minister Geoff Brock says it’s a vitally important program.

“This fund continues to support community groups with their crucial work to preserve our military history and educate the wider public about the significant contributions and sacrifices made by South Australia’s veterans,” Brock said.

“Through the Government’s support, the service of former and current personnel will be seen and remembered by more people at not only ANZAC Day services and commemorative events, but throughout the year.”
