The doctors who treated the two young women allegedly attacked by a man at Salt Creek in the Coorong last year, have given evidence at his trial, a plastic surgeon telling the court the German woman’s head wounds were so deep, her skull was exposed.
Dr Andrew Raymond from Flinders Medical Centre says luckily the hammer blows were to the top of her head where the bone is hardest and not the side otherwise the result would have been a lot worse.
Dr Lyndall Young also gave evidence after she treated the Brazilian woman who had allegedly been sexually assaulted saying she had bruises and swelling on her face as well as several scratches and marks on her ankles and wrists that may have been caused by being tied up.
The trial continues in the supreme court today with the 60 year old accused pleading guilty to all 7 charges including indecent assault and attempted murder.
