Some major resealing work will begin on several roads across the Adelaide Hills today,. part of a $750,000 package of work to improve safety on 25km of roads across the state.

The road works will begin on Macclesfield Rd between Wattle and Shadygrove Rd at Meadows, the Mt Barker to Echunga Rd at Mt Barker and the Mt Pleasant to Tungkillo Rd just south of Mt Pleasant and will continue through until April when they’re scheduled to be completed.

Transport and Infratructure Minister Stephen Mullighan says work like this is essential to keep SA drivers safe.

"Resealing works such as these are vital for ensuring the long-term use of key arterial roads,as well as making them safer for everyone who uses them."

"Whether it is to commute, for school runs, to transport goods or for people heading out on weekends and at night, these important works cut the chances risk of crashes, make the journey smoother and lead to less wear and tear on vehicles."

There will be speed and lane restrictions in place for the duration.
